Theme: Eco-friendly City and Sustainable Development
The Theme of this Summer School focuses on city, sustainable development and life style with four modules:
1. Discovering Shanghai; 2. Eco-friendly City; 3. Environmental Protection; 4. Outcome Exhibition
Students are supposed to attend group discussions and researches through well-organized lectures and visits with specific themes, complete team reports and exhibit outcome based on their experience and learning through inter-disciplinary teamwork.

The NPU Summer Programme is a four-week academic session specifically for international students interested in Chinese Studies. The purpose of the programme is to give students an opportunity to study conversational Chinese intensively in an environment where it can be put immediately into practice, as well as a chance to learn firsthand about Chinese culture and contemporary society by living and studying there.
Schedule & courses
As a privileged partner of VUB, NPU offers 10 scholarships to VUB students. The scholarships include registration fee, tuition, accommodation, food, local transportation, tickets for excursions, but NOT include travel expenses to Xi’an.

The program is open to the full variety of academic work in the field of communication and media studies for young scholars, PhD and graduate students who have strong academic interests, especially for those with a background in international communication, intercultural communication, Chinese/European media and culture/language studies. The Summer School aims to bring together researchers from Europe, China and other countries to debate contemporary issues in media, communication and cultural studies in Chinese and European media industry.
