China’s Vice Premier Liu Yandong gave a keynote speech at VUB campus

On 16th September, the highest ranking female politician in China, Vice Premier Madam LIU Yandong, visited VUB and gave a keynote speech to hundreds of students, scholars, professors and external guests. This distinguished attendance took place in the context of the fortieth birthday of diplomatic relations between the European Union and the People’s Republic of China. Organized by International Relations & Mobility Office of VUB, Madam LIU Yandong’s speech was a highlight during the two-day BACES conference “EU-China Think Tank Forum: EU-China 40 Years A New Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” at VUB campus. It was highly appreciated that all current Chinese students and scholars at campus were invited to warmly welcome Madam LIU’s delegation together with our Rector Paul De Knop, Vice Rector Jan Cornelis, President Eddie van Gade, and State Secretary Cecil Jodoigne at auditorium entrance.
